LATE MODEL RACE CANCELED - SPORTSMAN, STREETS,

LEGENDS AND FACTORY STOCKS WILL RACE IN 4 - 35'S

THIS SATURDAY (4/10) AT WALL STADIUM

 

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ With the originally scheduled Late Model race canceled and the Supreme Manufacturing Modifieds not scheduled, Wall Stadium's four support divisions will move center stage this Saturday night (April 10) in a quartet of 35-lap main events. Gates will open at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, with qualifying set for 5:30 p.m. and main events set for 6:30 p.m.

 

Opening night winner Robert Sutphin of Brick and defending champ Kevin Eyres of Colts Neck will lead the Sportsman division into 35-lap competition. Defending champion Carl Thomas of Tinton Falls and last week’s winner Gregg Miranda of Hazlet will pace the Street Stock 35-lapper.

 

In the Legend Cars 35-lapper, opening night winner Robert French of Howell and defending champ Mark Tischler will be favorites, while the Flanagan Retail Development Factory Stock 35-lapper will see recent winner Ricky Williams and defending champ Mike Bilello of Neptune as favorites.

 

With the Modifieds off for the night, adult admission will be reduced to $14, while young people aged 12 to 16 will be $10, children 6 to 11 will be $6 and kids 5 and under are free. Gates will open at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, with qualifying set for 5:30 p.m. and main events set for 6:30 p.m.

 

The weekend will kick off on Friday evening as the track presents its first "Friday Night Cruise Night" of the year. For these events, held the second Friday of each month through October, Custom Cars fill the pit area and later in the evening cruise the third mile paved oval. Admission is free to all for this event, which runs from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

 

On Sunday, the fifth mile paved "inner oval" kicks off the 2010 "Sunday Series" featuring Go Karts, wingless Midgets, Legend Cars, Bandoleros and Micro Stocks starting at noon. For more information call 732-681-6400 or visit http://www.wallsundayseries.com.
