MODIFIED STOCK CARS RETURN TO WALL STADIUM ACTION

AT 6:30 P.M. THIS SATURDAY (APRIL 17)

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ After enjoying a scheduled Saturday night off last weekend, the mighty Supreme Manufacturing Modified stock car will return to Wall Stadium this Saturday night (April 17) to headline a five division racing program with a 40-lap main event. Spectator seating is scheduled to open at 4:00 p.m., while qualifying will begin at 5:30 p.m. and main event action will start at 6:30 p.m.

Leading the Modified stock cars into action will be 2009 driving champion Chas Okerson of Freehold and 2010 opening night winner Anthony Sesely of Matawan. Driving standouts Steven Reed of Freehold, Tommy Farrell of Neptune, Shaun Carrig of Little Falls and Adam LaCicero of Lavallette are also among those expected to fill the entry list.

The speedway's Sportsman division is also creating a lot of interest for Saturday night. While 2009 champion Kevin Eyres of Colts Neck will lead the field, early season race winners Robert Sutphin of Brick and Charlie Kremer III of Toms River, along with Kevin Davison of Howell and 2009 "Rookie of the Year" Andrew Krause of East Brunswick, will be among those offering plenty of competition. Excitement for this division is growing since recent events have hosted many new top quality cars. In fact, many enthusiasts are expecting fields approaching 30 cars to be the norm for most events in 2010. The Sportsman cars are set for a 25-lapper on Saturday.

Also racing in a 25-lap feature will be the Street Stocks with early 2010 winners Gregg Miranda of Hazlet and Ray Minieri of Bay Shore, N.Y., leading the way and the INEX Legend Cars with early season winners Robert French of Howell and Mike Alcaro of Newton at the front of the pack. The Flanagan Retail Development Factory Stocks are scheduled for a 20-lap nightcap with Wall’s Rob Longo and Red Bank's Ricky Williams each looking for his second win of the young season.

The weekend will kick off on Friday evening as the track presents its first "Friday Night Cruise Night" of the year. For these events, held the second Friday of the month through October with a rain date of the third Friday, Custom Cars fill the pit area and later in the evening cruise the third mile paved oval. Admission is free to all for this event, which runs from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. This event was originally schedule for last Friday (April 9), but was postponed by bad weather.

On Sunday, the fifth mile paved "inner oval" continues the 2010 "Sunday Series" featuring Go Karts, wingless Midgets, Legend Cars, Bandoleros and Micro Stocks starting at noon. For more information call 732-681-6400 or visit www.wallsundayseries.com.
