TIM ARRE, ROB WILLIAMS, DAVE GREEN AND TED WALTERS GET FIRST WINS OF 2007
Bill Vanderveen and Mike Stull each claim second victories of season at Wall Speedway
by Walter Elliott and Mike Clayton

Tim Arre - September 29th Modified Winner

WALL TWP., NJ -- Saturday, September 29th was a night of firsts at Wall Township Speedway. Veteran Whelen All-American Series Modified driver Tim Arre won his main event for the 23rd time in his career and first of 2007 in what has been a rough year on the Toms River chauffeur. Former Sportsman standout Rob Williams won his first RMP Modified Affordable Division feature. Dave Green achieved his initial Sportsman Feature win. Long time Wall driver and owner Ted Walters won the first feature of his career in the Value Towing Factory Stocks, after post race inspections disqualified original winner Joe Constandi and 2 others. Defending champion Bill Vanderveen took his 2nd win of the season in the Street Stocks. Mike Stull won his 2nd for the year in the INEX Legends Division, but that was not enough to keep Mike Fulton from claiming the 2007 Wall Township Speedway INEX Legends Track Championship in their double point event. The Modifieds, Street Stocks, Sportsman, RMP Modified Affordable Division, and Value Towing Factory Stocks are racing for double-points this week in the Scott Motor Coach Sales Season Finale - Scout Night with Turkey Derby Qualifier features. The INEX Legends will be racing for their Turkey Derby guaranteed spot as well. Any Scouts dressed in their full uniform will be admitted to the grandstands for $1 dollar! Gates open at 4pm with qualifying starting at 6:30pm, Saturday.

In the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Modified division, Kevin Flockhart, of Jackson, and Steve Reed, of Howell, have helped set the stage for their October 6th championship points season finale by finishing second and third in their modified main last Saturday night. While Tim Arre, of Toms River, won his first NASCAR Whelen All- American Series mod main of the year, 2004 track champ Flockhart cut into Reed's points lead by finishing 2nd. Reed was right behind in 3rd, with Tommy Farrell III and Rich Lovelace completing the top 5.

Mike Stull, of Hamilton, won the double-points INEX Legends feature Saturday but could not keep Bridgewater's Mike Fulton from finishing fifth - and taking that division's title. Fulton has the opportunity to represent WTS in 600 Racing's Asphalt Nationals at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Oct. 10-12. Although track management advanced the double points a week for the nationals, Saturday's non-points Legends race still counts as their Nov. 23-24 Turkey Derby qualifier. Title rivals Ron Poley and Dan Roslin, both of Little Egg Harbor Twp., finished eighth and 10th among 15 runners. INEX dealer John Hugate, of Ewing, Don Neuls, of Hamilton, and Mike Alcaro won their heats but ended up among the seven nonfinishers.

Vern McLaughlin III, of Whitehouse Station, has a chance to win the Value Towing Factory Stock crown but still has to battle his teammate Richard Petey, Danny Collamer, and Nick Shaw for that honor. McLaughlin dropped out four laps short of the VTFS 20-lap feature and was placed 19th after post race inspections DQ'd 3 of the cars that originally finished ahead of him.

David Green finally won his career first sportsman main, holding off current points leader Kevin Eyres, of Colts Neck, by .156 sec. after 25 laps. Green won his first career sportsman main by .173 sec. over Eyres. Eyres, of Colts Neck, has seven divisional victories and the points lead over six-time defending titlist Chas Okerson, of Freehold, who came home 3rd. Charlie Kremer III, of Toms River, who saw Green spin ahead of him to take the win in September 22nd's feature, finished 4th, with Elliott Wohl 5th.

Rob Williams also held off Eyres to win the RMP Modified Affordable Division main. Williams edged Eyres by .156 sec. after 25 laps. Steve Voorhees took 3rd, Robert Sutphin was 4th. Fifth place finisher Danny Bohn is the defending series champ. Eyres' car owner Carl Thomas was the first of five DNF's.

Bill Vanderveen, of Beachwood, won his second 2007 Street Stock 25 lap feature. Defending class champ Vanderveen splits heats with Ray Minieri and beat Minieri by .571 sec. Ron Frees was 3rd, with multiple titlist Rich Mongeau, of Howell, 4th, and Dave Jennings 5th.
