KREMER,
MINIERI, ALCARO AND LONGO WIN
WALL
STADIUM
STOCK
CAR RACES SATURDAY NIGHT
WALL
TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ Charlie Kremer III of Toms River, Ray Minieri of
Bay Shore, N.Y., Mike Alcaro of Newton and Rob Longo of Wall were
all winners Saturday night at Wall Stadium as the third mile paved
oval presented four 35-lap main events, Modified stock cars, which
race at the speedway on a regular basis but were not scheduled,
will return to action this coming Saturday night (April 17).
The
35-lapper for the Sportsman cars featured a three-car battle for
the lead for almost the entire distance. Defending champ Kevin
Eyres of Colts Neck led early, but Jason Treat of Jackson and
Charlie Kremer III of Toms River were able to race into first and
second by the time ten laps were complete.
From
that point on Treat and Kremer tussled for the lead until Treat
crossed the finish line first with 35-laps completed. Although
Treat was able to drive to the front, he was not able to pass a
post-race technical inspection and that handed the victory to
Kremer. Eyres was advanced to second, while opening night winner
Robert Sutphin of Brick earned third place. Christian LaCicero of
Lavallette and Andrew Krause of East Brunswick were fourth and
fifth.
"This
is the best car I've ever driven,"
the second generation winner said. "My dad had this car built
18 years ago and it sat. Over the winter we had Rob Ormsbee put it
together for us and it is fast. I'm really excited about this
season because of this car."
Jerry
Stanzione of Keansburg was the early leader of the Street Stock
35-lapper, but Minieri's No. 1 was on the move early and took
the lead well before five laps were completed. Several tangles
shuffled the remainder of the top five during the balance of the
race, but Minieri was able to stay out front to the checker flag.
Howie
Conk of Jackson applied some pressure in the closing laps, while
opening night winner Gregg Miranda of Hazlet overcame an early
race scuffle to finish third. Jon Meyer of Toms River and Mike
Tillett of Bayville were fourth and fifth.

Friends
Kevin Nowak of Medford, N.Y. and Alcaro wrestled for the lead most
of the way in the INEX Legend Cars 35-lapper before Alcaro finally
took command and raced to his first win of the year. Zach Alspach
of Willingboro and Derek Hopkinson of Toms River raced into second
and third late in the contest, while Nowak finally settled in for
fourth. Defending division champ Mark Tischler of Martinsville was
fifth.

After
Todd Pilla of Beachwood and Richard Petey of Hackettstown both
took turns leader the Flanagan Retail Development Factory Stock
35-lapper, Longo raced through the pack to take the lead near the
halfway point. From then on it was the speedway's first ever
Factory Stock champ taking the win over Petey and opening night
winner Ricky Williams of Red Bank. Joe Constandi and Tom Fratesi,
both of Flemington, were fourth and fifth.
Wall
Stadium roars back into action this Saturday night (April 17) with
the Supreme Manufacturing Modified stock cars returning to
headline a five division card. While the Modifieds will battle in
a 40-lap feature, the Sportsman racers, the Street Stocks and the
Legend Cars will race in 25-lappers and the Factory Stocks will
all battle in a 20-lap feature. Gates will open at 4:00 p.m. on
Saturday, with qualifying set for 5:30 p.m. and main events set
for 6:30 p.m.
The
weekend will kick off on Friday evening as the track presents its
first "Friday Night Cruise
Night" of the year. For these events, held the second Friday
of the month through October, Custom Cars fill the pit area and
later in the evening cruise the third mile paved oval. Admission
is free to all for this event, which runs from 5:00 p.m. until
8:00 p.m. This event was originally schedule for last Friday
(April 9), but was postponed by bad weather.
On
Sunday, the fifth mile paved "inner
oval" continues the 2010 "Sunday Series" featuring
Go Karts, wingless Midgets, Legend Cars, Bandoleros and Micro
Stocks starting at noon. For more information call 732-681-6400 or
