SESELY AND COSS WIN MODIFIED TWIN 35'S AT
WALL STADIUM SATURDAY
WALL
TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ Anthony Sesely of Matawan and Roger
Coss of Lafayette each earned an extra reason to enjoy
their "Memorial Day" weekend by winning in "Twin 35" lap
Modified stock car feature races at Wall Stadium
Saturday night. Sesely's win was his second straight and
his third of the season, while Coss, a Modified rookie,
grabbed his first ever win in the powerful racecar
division.
In the first Supreme
Manufacturing Modified feature, Sesely jumped to the
lead early and never looked back. Brick's Ron Frees, in
his first Modified race of the season, ran second for
more than half the race before defending champion Chas
Okerson of Freehold finally slipped into second. Sesely
and Okerson raced on to claim the top two spots, while
Frees fought off Freehold's Steven Reed for third. Bob
Boardwick of Hazlet was fifth.
 "We put new tires
on the car for tonight and that really paid off," Sesely
said. "A lot of great people make this car go like it
does. I am just the lucky guy who gets to drive it."
After finishing sixth in the first race, Coss
rocketed to the lead early in the second Modified main
event and held off early race assaults from Reed. Later
in the contest Coss stretched an advantage as Sesely
moved in to challenge Reed for second. Coss was able to
hold his advantage to the finish, with Reed fighting off
Sesely for second. Okerson was fourth and Boardwick was
fifth.

"It took a little time to learn how to pass in these
cars," Coss said of his Modified. "These cars are a lot
wider than the Legend Cars that I drove last year.
Still, I think we all learned pretty quickly."
Charlie Kremer III of Toms River and Kevin Eyres of
Colts Neck wrestled side-by-side for several laps in the
Sportsman 25-lap feature before Eyres was finally able
to power into the lead in the outside lane on the sixth
circuit. Eyres then raced on to his second win of the
year with Kremer close behind. Howell's Eric Mauriello
was third, while Mike Smith of Spring Lake Heights and
Lavallette's Christian LaCicero were fourth and fifth.
Derek Hopkinson of Toms River raced into the lead on
the third lap and then held his ground to the finish to
win his first ever 25-lapper for the INEX Legend Cars.
Hopkinson fought off four-time winner Trevor Alspach of
Willingboro and defending champion Mark Tischler of
Martinsville for the win. Brian Spencer of Edison and
Ron Poley of Egg Harbor Township were fourth and fifth.

Bayville's Mike Tillett was the early leader of the
Street Stock 25-lap feature, but seventh starting Carl
Thomas of Tinton Falls charged through the pack to take
the lead on lap 16 and never looked back. Ray Minieri of
Bay Shore, N.Y. was the runner-up, while Tillett,
Hazlet's Gregg Miranda and Beachwood's Bill Vanderveen
completed the top five.
Vern McLaughlin borrowed
a car to race and crossed the finish line first in the
20-lap Flanagan Retail Development Factory Stock
feature, but when that car failed a post-race
inspection. Todd Pilla of Beachwood was awarded his
first ever main event win. Union's Joey Helberg was
second, while Tom Mikolajczyk of Bayville, Neptune's Tim
O'Shea and John Bowers of Point Pleasant were third
through fifth.
The stock cars get this coming
weekend off as the national "Formula D Drift
Championship" comes to the Jersey Shore. Ticket
information and schedules are available at
www.formulad.com.
Wall Stadium stock cars then roar back into action on Saturday night,
June 12, with the Touring Modified stock cars returning
to headline a five-division card. While the Modifieds
will battle in "Twin 50" lap feature races, the
Sportsman racers, the Street Stocks and the Legend Cars
will all race in 25-lappers and the Factory Stocks will
battle in a 20-lap feature.
On Sunday, June 13,
the fifth mile paved "inner oval" returns to action
after two weeks off with the 2010 "Sunday Series"
featuring Go Karts, wingless Midgets, Legend Cars,
Bandoleros and Micro Stocks starting at noon. For more
