FARRELL AND REED WIN TOURING MODIFIED TWIN 50'S AT
WALL STADIUM SATURDAY
WALL
TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ Tommy Farrell of Neptune and Freehold's
Steven Reed each posted long awaited victories Saturday
night at Wall Stadium as each held off tough competition
for 50-lap main event wins in Touring Modified stock car
action. Charlie Kremer III of Toms River, Sportsman
division, Carl Thomas of Tinton Falls, Street Stock
division, Kevin Nowak of Medford, N.Y., Legend Cars
division and Chris Felber of Brick, Factory Stock
division, were support division winners.

In the first Touring
Modified 50-lapper, Farrell took advantage of a pole
starting position, determined by the luck of the draw,
to rocket to the lead at the outset. Anthony Sesely of
Matawan was his first challenger before losing the
second spot to Reed on lap 31. As Sesely slipped through
the field, Reed chased Farrell while Pete Brittain of
Allentown and Howell's Ken Woolley, Jr. advanced to
third and fourth.
At the checker flag Farrell
enjoyed a slight margin of victory, while Reed,
Brittain, Woolley and Sesely completed the top five.
The second Modified 50-lap race saw Danny Sammons of
Trenton vault to the lead early with Tony Ferrante, Jr.
of Franklin Square, N.Y. and Woolley second and third.
Woolley soon took command of the race, while Sesely,
Reed and Howell's Jamie Tomaino advanced to the top four
spots.
Sesely soon moved to second and began to
attack Woolley. Just before the halfway mark the pair
tangled with Woolley spinning from the lead and Sesely
heading to the pit area for repairs. Reed was now the
leader.
The second half of the contest saw Reed
as the top man, but Farrell was looking to make it a
perfect night as he rode second. This duo then wrestled
all the way to the checker flag with Tomaino finishing
third, Sesely fourth and Chas Okerson of Freehold,
fifth.
Kremer raced into the lead with seven laps
complete in the Sportsman 25-lapper and then drove on to
his second win of the season. Kevin Davison of Howell
chased him most of the way before settling for second,
with Brick's Robert Sutphin, Kyle Reinhardt of Neptune
City and Toms River's David Calabreeze completing the
top five.
Anthony Crimaldi of Port Monmouth
crossed the finish line first in the Street Stock
25-lapper, but when his car failed a post-race
inspection Thomas was awarded the win. This duo had
wrestled the entire race before the checker flag waved.
Howie Conk of Jackson was second, Beachwood's Bill
Vanderveen, third, Richie Byrne, fourth and Jerry
Stanzione of Keansburg, fifth.
 When leaders
Trevor Alspach of Willingboro, Mark Tischler of
Martinsville and Derek Hopkinson of Toms River all had
trouble in the closing laps, Nowak was there to race
through the carnage and on to his first win of the year
in the INEX Legend Car 25-lap feature race. New York
invader Tom Hartensveld impressed many by finishing
second, while Joe Mongeau of Brick, Kenny Van Wickle of
Spring Lake and Brian Spencer of Edison were third
through fifth.
 After trying for years with
countless close finishes, Felber took the lead on the
second lap and grabbed his first ever victory in the
20-lap nightcap for the Flanagan Retail Development
Factory Stocks. Former champ Rob Longo of Wall chased
him to the line, with Rick Siddons of Beachwood, Brick's
Paul Hartwig and John Bowers of Point Pleasant
completing the top five.
Wall
Stadium stock cars roar back into action this Saturday
night, June 19, with the Sportsman cars taking the
spotlight in a 50-lap feature event. The Supreme
Manufacturing Modifieds will battle in a 40-lap feature
race, the Street Stocks and the Legend Cars will both
race in 25-lappers and the Factory Stocks will battle in
a 20-lap feature. Spectator seating will open at 4:00
p.m., with qualifying set for 5:45 p.m. and feature
racing set for 6:45 p.m.
On Sunday, June 20, the
fifth mile paved "inner oval" returns to action after
two weeks off with the 2010 "Sunday Series" featuring Go
Karts, wingless Midgets, Legend Cars, Bandoleros and
Micro Stocks starting at noon. For more information call
