REED AND FLOCKHART TOP
WALL MODIFIED TWIN 20'S SATURDAY
WALL TOWNSHIP,
N.J. ~ Veteran Modified stock car drivers Steven
Reed of Freehold and Kevin Flockhart of Jackson were
winners Saturday night in "Twin 20" lap main events
at Wall Stadium. In a new format, once the first
20-lap main event was completed a young fan
determined, by a blind draw, that the top eight
finishers would be inverted and the second 20-lapper
was contested immediately.
Shaun Carrig of Little Falls
jumped to the lead at the outset of the first
20-lapper, but Reed was on his bumper at once. Reed
needed just two laps to drive into the lead and then
held off defending track champ Chas Okerson of
Freehold to the finish. Farmingdale's Billy Cole,
Carrig and Flockhart completed the top five.

"The car was just about
perfect thanks to my crew," Reed said after the win.
"I want to dedicate this win to Alice Geibel who
passed away this week. She was a very good friend to
our family and to everyone here at Wall Stadium."
Young David Reinhardt of Neptune City charged to
the front in the second Supreme Manufacturing
Modified 20-lapper and looked like he may be racing
to his first ever stock car win. That all changed on
the 16th lap as he spun in turn four. Flockhart, who
was replacing Neptune's Tommy Farrell in the No. 08
for the night, then raced home to the win over Roger
Coss of Lafayette, Cole, Okerson and James
Pritchard.

"It feels great to win here again," Flockhart said.
"I just found out that I was driving this car last
night. Tommy Farrell hurt his ribs and couldn't race
it tonight. I’m sure glad they asked me!"

Eric Mauriello of Howell took command of the 25-lap
Sportsman feature race with just six laps remaining
and raced home to his first ever Wall Stadium win.
Andrew Krause of Holmdel finished second to the
Howell High School student, while Mike Smith of
Spring Lake Heights and David Calabreese and Charlie
Kremer III, both of Toms River, completed the top
five.
Elliott Wohl of Freehold crossed the
finish line first in the 20-lapper for the Flanagan
Retail Development Factory Stocks, but when his car
failed a post race inspection Rick Siddons of
Beachwood was awarded his second win of the season.
Point leader Rob Longo and Roy Farfel, both of Wall,
were second and third, while Union's Joey Helberg
and Brick's Shannon Mongeau were fourth and fifth.

The 25-lapper for the Legend Cars was a family
battle with Zach Alspach of Willingboro beating his
brother Trevor to the finish line in a thriller.
Brian Spencer of Edison, Kenny Van Wickle of Spring
Lake and Malcolm Campbell of Eatontown were third
through fifth.
 Mike Kennedy of
Point Pleasant raced into the lead early and stayed
out front all the way to win the 25-lap Street Stock
main event. Bill Vanderveen of Beachwood,
Keansburg's Jerry Stanzione, Gregg Miranda of Hazlet
and Jackson's Howie Conk completed the top five.

Jon Gambuti won the 25-lapper for the visiting
ATQMRA Three Quarter Midgets over Austin Fehr and
Mike Tidaback.
